I moved to New York City to further my college education when I reached college age.
During my free time, I would go to the Diamond District on 47th street
I was enthralled by the diamond and gold jewelry, in the windows of the shops. And with the constant hustle and bustle of shoppers and merchants walking up and down the street..
Upon seeing all this exciting action I told my father that I too wanted to enter the diamond business. He was not too keen because he said the diamond business is mainly run by men, However, I persevered and with his help [and with other family members I found my way into the business
As a result, my father would ship me parcels of brilliant cut diamonds from his factory in South Africa to sell to merchants on 47th street..
I got a very good response to the merchandise as being firsthand with De Beers’ made our price very attractive to customers.
Later on, I relocated with my husband to California to set up his new Medical Practice.
Subsequently, my parents moved to California where my Dad set up a new office in the Diamond District in downtown LA
My brother stayed in Johannesburg to oversee the diamond factory.
He would send us diamonds to sell to dealers on the market.
My job was to sort them by color and clarity.
It was then that I started designing diamond necklaces and bracelets to sell to Retail Stores
Subsequently, I decided to open my own diamond and gold jewelry business
Thereafter I expanded my Jewelry Creations and created the TemiB brand which I
Exhibited at the Jewelry Trade Shows in New York for many years., catering to Retail Stores.
Currently, I am excited to be Marketing LAB GROWN DIAMONDS as well as my GOLD and DIAMOND COLLECTIONS.
